Therapy for Depression

“What is depression like? It’s like drowning, except everyone around you is breathing.

Depression isn't just sadness. And it doesn't get better just because someone told you to cheer up and smile. But recovery is possible, and you don't need to do it alone.

Do you find yourself thinking things like:

  • I'm exhausted and don't have energy for anything

  • I feel worthless and I don't believe it when people tell me otherwise

  • I'm angry and irritable, and just want to be alone

  • I feel guilty and bad about myself

  • Nothing feels fun or enjoyable anymore

  • I feel empty, dark, or pain inside, and no one seems to understand

I understand that you want the darkness to end, but that sometimes there is a shred of comfort in that darkness too. I understand that even the good days seem fleeting. I understand depression can feel like weakness, and there is stigma attached. But also understand how to work with this deep feeling, how to build on what it is, and challenge the reactions, perceptions, and thinking that goes with it.

Hope is possible.
